Oh No!

Former Sen. Fred Thompson (D.A. on Law&Order) may be running for President.

This could be trouble. You see, the Repugs just don't have a viable candidate. McCain, Romney, Juliani, Gingrich etc are all crashing and burning. But Fred, he's been sort of above the frey. He could claim to once again help restore honor, honesty, and dignity to the White House and Republican Party. He could easily mix in a little pro-life, God, and no new taxes mantras to make his way all the way to becoming the nominee for the Rethug party. The wingers would eat that shit up.

Time to do some Fred Thompson research. How many times has he been married? How many affairs has he had? Is he gay? Republicans are notorious for affairs and quite a few of them end up having homosexual encounters. Thus I feel these are fair questions.

Fred Thompson may be 2008 candidate

WASHINGTON, March 11 Fred Thompson, actor and former Republican senator from Tennessee, announced this weekend that he may run for U.S. president in 2008.

Appearing on Fox News Sunday with host Chris Wallace, Thompson said he is giving serious thought to a presidential run, partially in response to the feeling among Republicans that there is no strong candidate currently in the field. Thompson told Wallace that due to the nation's perilous times, he is leaving the door open whether or not to run. Thompson also told Wallace of his political views, which include opposition to abortion. Thompson said he believes in tolerance of gays, but said he thinks gay marriage goes too far.

When asked about the war in Iraq, Thompson said he believes in Bush and thinks the United States should stick to long-term commitments in the Middle East.

Thompson also told Wallace he is against gun control, and that people should have the right to own a handgun and keep it in their home. When asked about immigration reform, Thompson said he is not completely for a comprehensive reform.

There are some wingnuts creaming their pants right about now.

It should work.

Actors job is to lie to the viewing audience and why change agendas in the Repugnant Party?

What is it about has-been actors that's such an aphrodisiac to Republicans?

Hi Tom,

I think it's their ability to pee on your leg and convince you it's raining.

They can sell a lie like no one's business and that gives you massive street cred in the rethug party.

Former Sen. Fred Thompson (D.A. on Law&Order) may be running for President.

To paraphrase Mr. Thompson from one of his movies roles.

"This will get out of hand...and we'll be lucky to live through it."
