Feinstein, Schumer Betray America

I can't speak for Schumer, but I knew there was something fishy when Feinstein and Bush were holding hands exploring the fire wreckage in California last week. Those two have little or no concern for the American People. No doubt this was an opportunity for them to talk shop and broker a deal. And what deal could that be?
Well today we find out that Feinstein will support the nomination of Mukasey to the position of Attorney General. This is a disgrace and travesty for the American People. Mukasey cannot even bring himself to admit that water boarding is torture. And why not? Because if he does Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld will face charges of war crimes. Bush was careful to select a nominee that will shill for him.
So why would Feinstein betray us? I can't speak on Schumer. I know little about him. I live in California and I know Feinstein is nearly as dirty as your average Republican. She is a war profiteer. She herself has faced ethics probes for funneling military contracts to her husband's company Perini. No doubt her support for Bush will earn her some more bones and earmarks to send her husband's way.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., has abruptly walked away from her responsibilities with the Senate Military Construction Appropriations Subcommittee after a report linked her votes to the financial well-being of her husband's companies, which received billions of dollars worth of military construction contracts she approved. (March 28, 2007)I fail to understand what is so hard about opposing torture. What is so hard about sending a message to President Bush that America will not tolerate torture? I'm tired of these Republican Lite Democrats appeasing Bush for their own self interests. Enough already.
Bush attorney general nominee gets key Democratic support
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The confirmation of Michael Mukasey as attorney general was all but assured Friday when two key Democratic senators said they will vote in favor of the nominee despite questions about his views on "waterboarding" and the president's power to order electronic surveillance.
Sens. Dianne Feinstein of California and Charles Schumer of New York announced they would support the retired federal judge from New York just hours after the chairman of the Judiciary Committee announced his opposition to the nominee.
Feinstein and Schumer are members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which is scheduled to vote on the Mukasey nomination Tuesday.
If all the Republican members of the committee also vote for Mukasey, which is expected, his nomination will go before the full Senate. A leading Democrat, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Wednesday Mukasey is likely to be confirmed if his nomination passes the Judiciary Committee.
Bush attorney general nominee gets key Democratic support
I am getting sick and tired of Democrats betraying the American People. Do they not understand how demoralizing this is to watch our Democratic Congress continually appease Bush? Why won't other Senate Democrats put pressure on Schumer and Feinstein?
This is tragic. This may be the last chance America has to hold Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld accountable for their crimes.
Democrats, you now have as much blood on your hands as Republicans do.
Shame on you Feinstein. Shame on you Schumer. You both are scum. Why don't you just switch parties now or at the very least join Lieberman? Quit masquerading as Democrats. It's shameful.

Comments
I was set to post on both Schumer and Feinstein but thought I would wait until Tuesday to see exactly where they both would lead us on this Attorney General confirmation.
I guess they fell for Bush statment: Approve Mukasey or we will all die, and it will be all your fault.

Thank you so much for posting this about DiFi and her ties to Perini.
Feinstein is a warmonger. She's voted for Bush's Iraq war and every subsequent funding bill to keep it going. She's a DINO Dem and a dangerous witch.
Again, thanks for posting this.

Poli, you really should change the name of your blog to Fucking Pissed On Politics, because that's what shit like this makes us. How the fuck can you have no soul and sell out to the military-industrial complex run these evil fucking asshats? And where the fuck is Howard Dean on any of this? I don't give a fuck that he's primarily to raise funds or whatever bullshit line he and others peddle, but there is ZERO ZERO ZERO leadership from ANYONE on the Dems.
Would it be so hard to go "no, Bush gets nothing until he's out of the White House. Period. Next question."
