The Forgotten News
The news about The Pentagon paying retired Generals to spread propaganda around the news outlets has been in virtual corporate media blackout. When's the last time you saw a retired General on the TV? At least a week, right? What does it take to crush a story of this magnitude? Why is the corporate media doing the bidding of The Pentagon?
NYT - Behind TV Analysts, Pentagon’s Hidden Hand

To the public, these men are members of a familiar fraternity, presented tens of thousands of times on television and radio as “military analysts” whose long service has equipped them to give authoritative and unfettered judgments about the most pressing issues of the post-Sept. 11 world.
Hidden behind that appearance of objectivity, though, is a Pentagon information apparatus that has used those analysts in a campaign to generate favorable news coverage of the administration’s wartime performance, an examination by The New York Times has found.
The effort, which began with the buildup to the Iraq war and continues to this day, has sought to exploit ideological and military allegiances, and also a powerful financial dynamic: Most of the analysts have ties to military contractors vested in the very war policies they are asked to assess on air.

That is sick! Like everything else they are lying and controlling, when they are caught they can care less and just deny it. Absolutely 100% everything is controlled so their conspiracy can be followed meanwhile when the truth is spoken it is dismissed as conspiracy.
All this crap starts right at the very top. I am just so sick of this crap and they just keep getting away with it and it will continue. Until we figure out how to beat this disinformation juggernaut as I keep saying we are screwed.

I give up! what is happening in our country is so wrong, wrong, wrong, that to even comment on the destruction of America that is so prevelant in a rational way has escaped me.
I won't even try. We are fucking doomed, and it seems there is nothing we can do about it.

On another note: Usually oil companies will spike prices to raise money for their candidate. It was most obvious during the election years with Bush/s. So why now. McCain is nominated and there are other sources of money. Think about it. Obama supporters are nickel and dime supporters. If they have to put those nickels and dimes into gasoline then less money that will go to Obama. It is a double win for the oil companies.

Hi uncledan, ration and logic went out the door years ago. If we could elect new leadership it would help but it seems the American People are too stubborn and too stupid to do even that.
